Despite the economic decline and uncertainty surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic, the industrial property market remains buoyant as shown by the deals highlighted in our website news.
Office and retail sectors have suffered immediate impact which I personally witnessed within months of the UK lockdown where two separate tenants vacating their office premises specifically cited ‘home-working’ as primary reasons for not renewing their respective leases. Caroline and Jason’s articles give their perspective on the future of offices.
From 1st September 2020, new Planning Regulations make radical changes to the 1987 Use Classes Order which sit alongside recent permitted development rights that aim to support the high street revival in allowing greater flexibility to change uses within town centres without needing express planning permission. Peter’s article provides further commentary regarding these planning changes.
