Welcome to the May 2012 Newsletter

Government intervention in the market is at last having a positive effect. The recently published National Planning Policy Framework seeks to encourage developers back into the market by simplifying the planning system and obliging Local Authorities to view development positively. Residential developers are back in the market and in prime areas land owners are seizing opportunities to maximise values.

Further intervention by way of grants or loans is available both through the Lancashire Economic Partnership and Europe, the onus being upon developers to tap into the millions available. Many of our larger development opportunities remain untapped and must be kick-started if the region is to remain competitive.
