Talk Up Our Towns

It is incumbent upon all stakeholders, whether they be public or private sector, to promote, invest and remain positive about our town centres.   All the major urban areas in Lancashire have opportunities to make a real difference to our town centres which must not be squandered. 

Infill tinkering here and there will not work, but with assistance from the government’s Levelling Up funds, substantial development can come forward. 

In both Blackburn and Burnley the central shopping malls have new owners and there is an opportunity to diversify further with the introduction of leisure and food and drink local entrepreneurs to enhance the offering.
