Welcome to The Deal, February 2020
Is speculative development back on track?
The M65 corridor has always been a hotbed for inward investment and this has been reinforced lately by a spate of new potential schemes likely to come forward in the next 12 to 18 months.
In Burnley Barnfield have recently submitted planning for Advanced Point a £11 million development on Rossendale Road. Consisting of two phases over 11 acres, phase 1 will comprise of 36 industrial units starting in size from 2100 sq ft and offer larger units for both sale and rental. Phase 2 proposals will be also be considered during 2020.
In Blackburn Monte developments are progressing planning for a further phase at Frontier Park. In two phases the large unit scheme will provide units from 50,000 sq. ft. upwards. A further small unit scheme is to be known as FP Prospect comprising 14,000 sq. ft. in units of 3,000 sq. ft. and 5,000 sq. ft.
Elsewhere Pendle projects have submitted planning for a new scheme in Colne where the first phase will provide upto 13,500 sq ft.
We are delighted to be the advising agents on all these schemes which promise to keep the M65 corridor on an upward curve. There are also other schemes in the pipeline which will hopefully be announced later in 2020. Michael Cavannagh
